A Few More Days...

Today was supposed to be the day Shaxpir went dark. But I've decided to give everyone a little more time.

Over the last couple of months, I've been working through my support inbox — resetting passwords for returning users who hadn't logged in for a while, and helping people export their books, stories, and notes. It's been a lot of work, but it's also been deeply meaningful to hear from so many of you, and to help make sure your words make it safely off the platform.

There are still a few stragglers out there, and I don't want anyone to be left behind. So I'm pushing the shutdown date back by a few days. The doors will stay open for everyone until May 5, 2026.

What You Need to Know

New Timeline:

  • Now through May 5, 2026: Shaxpir remains fully operational

  • End of day on May 5, 2026 (11:59pm Pacific Time): Logins disabled, service shuts down

Database Archive: After the shutdown, I'll be keeping an archive of the database for six months (until November 5, 2026), just in case anyone has an emergency and needs to recover something. Until that date, you can still reach me at support@shaxpir.com if you need help retrieving your work. On November 5, 2026, I will delete the archive forever, and the support email address will be terminated as well.

Still Need Help? If you haven't exported your work yet, please don't wait. You can export any project as a DOCX or EPUB file from within the application. Full instructions for exporting your books and your other writing are available in the Shaxpir Guidebook.

If you've forgotten your password, can't log in, or run into any trouble, just email me at support@shaxpir.com and I'll do my best to help.

Thank you again, to everyone who has reached out over the past couple of months. Your kind words about Shaxpir, and the stories you've shared about what you wrote here, have meant more to me than I can say.

A few more days. Let's make them count.
