Linguistic Highlighting: Adverbs

INCLUDED IN:

Many writing teachers instruct their students to be wary of adverbs — words that describe verbs or adjectives — because they can act as a distraction from choosing better verbs in the first place.

For example, perhaps instead of writing ”She ran quickly,” it might be stronger to write something like “She sprinted.”

Anytime you catch yourself using adverbs, it's an opportunity to choose a stronger action verb, and Shaxpir's Adverb Highlighter gives you a helpful visualization to see exactly where you've used adverbs, so that you can choose your words… wisely and carefully!

To learn more about how Shaxpir identifies adverbs, read the article How Part of Speech Analysis Works in the Shaxpir Guidebook.

The Adverb Highlighter is just one of the many Linguistic Highlighters we offer exclusively to Shaxpir Pro users.
