Brand New Website

Almost exactly a year ago, on March 21, 2015, we launched the original Shaxpir website. We built it on Squarespace, and we were thrilled with the result. We used that website to introduce ourselves to the world, to announce our beta program, to acquire our first 500 users.
But we’ve outgrown that website. Squarespace can be great for static content sites (especially for brand new ventures without the resources to build their own web property from the ground-up), but we’ve hit the limits of what we can do with a static site. We have enormous ambitions for Shaxpir — including community and collaboration features that just aren’t possible on Squarespace — so we’re completely relaunching our web presence in anticipation of building those new features.
We’ve also updated the message on our homepage to emphasize the role of creativity and imagination in the storytelling and publishing process. As writers, we understand that writing is not the same as typing, and our role in the publishing industry is to foster creativity, not just to build a better word-processor, but to nurture storytelling by investing directly in authors and in the worlds they create.
Keep an eye on us in 2016. This is going to be fun!
